On the kid front, Leeza is a SERIOUS drama queen. As I type she is weeping on my shoulder over M&Ms...which she thinks she needs more of. She is completely distraught over not getting more candy. She claims she has had ZERO candy today...which is not true in the least. Once she starts crying, it takes an act of God to get her to calm down. It is completely exhausting. Now she does have some funny drama moments. On Sunday, she got in bed with us and she was talking about the one subject she is constantly talking about....getting a dog in Colorado. That morning she was particularly wound up about the dog. So, she is kneeling on the bed next to us and clinching her fists at her chin exclaiming, " I just can't wait to get a dog." Jeff and I almost fell out of bed laughing. Then she goes into the living and tells my mother the same thing and dramatically throws herself on the carpet. I tell you, we have an actress in the making.
Zhenya is a Wii or Nintendo DS playing machine. I have to remind him often that we can not play video games all day all summer. He has been getting away with playing more than I like because we have been so busy packing and getting the house together for the move. He is also such a teasy pesty brother. If he can find anything that will pester Leeza, he is all about it. I am constantly reminding him to stop pestering his sister.
Their language skills continue to progress wonderfully. They seem to say words daily that I had no idea they know. It is cute when they say things they have picked up from us. Today Zhenya said something was "super fabulous" which is something I say all the time. Leeza is always telling us how "serious" she is about things. I can't type how cute it is when she says it. She can't say her "R" or her "L" so she says something like, "se-ye-ous". She called herself "Yeeza" and we are moving to "Coyayado". Its pretty cute right now, but I suspect she may be getting speech services in the not too distant future.
(BTW, papa just gave in on the M&Ms. Now she is happy as a lark. He is SUCH a sucker when it comes to Leeza!!!) I hope he gets over that by the time she is a teenager or I am in serious trouble!!!
I seriously think my kids get more beautiful the longer we have them. Leeza's hair is getting longer and she just gets prettier as it grows. Zhenya probably needs a haircut, but I have let his hair get longer too. He doesn't look like a Ukrainian orphan boy at all. They are just plain beautiful!!
